ASSIGNMENT

Clear communication doesn't
have to be boring!
For the renovation of Nationale-Nederlanden, &lotte was asked to design a physical installation that would make the project communication visible within the office. This installation was intended to display informative content over a period of six months about the ambitions, the changes, and the new design of the workplace.
The design focused not only on conveying information, but also on creating engagement. The goal was to involve colleagues in the process, strengthen their connection to the office, and generate enthusiasm for the relocation.
CONCEPT
The concept is built around several clear principles: a strong message, striking use of color, and a distinctive design. The installation was intended to capture attention and spark colleagues’ curiosity about the developments surrounding the renovation. Within the graphic design, I explored the boundaries of Nationale-Nederlanden’s visual identity, surprising colleagues and drawing their attention with each new communication update.
Different colors were used to distinguish themes such as health, renovation, workspaces, and shared areas. Blue represents workspaces, orange represents Nationale-Nederlanden, purple represents the relocation, and green represents sustainability. By using various mounting techniques, such as clamps and ring binders, the information could easily be updated throughout the process. By inviting colleagues to provide feedback using stickers and threads, the presentation became not only informative but also interactive.
The spatial presentation aligns with Nationale-Nederlanden’s sustainable vision. The structure was made from reclaimed materials left over after the relocation. Information was presented on DIN-format paper, allowing content to be easily printed and recycled in-house. The system was designed modularly, enabling the presentation to be used across different Nationale-Nederlanden locations.
